The room itself was fine, though it didn’t feel cosy to us. The decor might appeal to people who like the red light district, but that’s just personal taste. Leaving the next morning was easy enough, and we made sure we were out on time. The front door stood wide open in December, presumably so we could find our way out, and there was nobody around to say goodbye. We’d arrived with a lot of luggage, but Katja didn’t suggest we drop it in the room first, even though it was beside reception. Instead, we were asked to pay straight away and told we had to be out by 11 the next day at the latest. My daughter and I had come for one night to celebrate the end of exams in December, and from the start we didn’t feel welcome. Katja came across as cold. I was glad to see a Tesla charger in the parking area since we’d come in an electric vehicle. I expected to pay for the KWH used, but Katja said that wasn’t possible and seemed very annoyed. She wanted 25 euro upfront. I didn’t need a full charge, so I said I wouldn’t charge the car. I had to go back to the parking lot right away, and she switched off the electricity to make sure I couldn’t use any. It felt ridiculous, like they knew little about EV charging and weren’t open to learning. All in all, a very cold experience.
