Kemmel is a charming village, and the apartments are right in its center, with the entrance on Kasteeldreef. They’re spacious and have everything for a comfortable stay: a kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, stove, and kettle, a modern bathroom with a rain shower, TV, and Wi-Fi. There’s a chip shop nearby, and a food bar and grocery store 100 meters away. The village also has a bakery, newsagent, tourist information office, and another grocery store. The restaurant has been closed for a while, apparently for health reasons, and I don’t think it’ll reopen. That’s manageable, with two bistros and a chip shop close by, and breakfast available at the food bar. A great base for walking and cycling.

The apartment itself was good, clean, and had what we needed, including a balcony and access to the building’s sauna. Service was quick and friendly, and the hostess was helpful. But after we left, there was no response at all about the bill. I asked three times for the invoice and got neither a reply nor the document. So, although the apartment was good, the service left a lot to be desired.
