The Shepherds Farm

We had an incredible Christmas and New Year’s Eve here. The walking routes are stunning, the house is equipped amazingly well, and the hosts were very responsive. It’s a perfect home and location for a family getaway.

The setting changes with the seasons, and I’d love to see the nearby vineyards in summer or autumn, perhaps like Champagne. There’s plenty close by for adults and kids, from walks starting less than 50 metres from the entrance, past vineyards, forests, meadows and ice cream spots, to chairlifts, WWI trenches, mountain bike routes, special playgrounds like Cosmos, and Ypres. We couldn’t use the pool because it was early spring, but the house and its big garden still gave three families plenty of room, even with four energetic children. Inside, the tasteful decor made it feel like home right away, with a sense of space and a peaceful view across the pastoral landscape. The equipment was top-notch, from the large fridges, quality kitchen tools, two dishwashers and Nespresso to the big walk-in showers, bath and spacious bedrooms with excellent beds and complete quiet. There are extras such as a hammam too. We had a fantastic Easter weekend at Shepherd's Farm with the grandparents, two couples and four grandchildren aged 2 to 7. A truly astonishing place for anyone who loves space, stylish surroundings, quiet at home and lots to do nearby.

We’ve come back for a second stay and are loving it. The house is beautifully decorated and fully set up for 10, with magical views. Our perfect weekend with friends had long walks nearby, time to unwind in the hammam, a winter BBQ and cozy evenings by the fireplace.

A fantastic, well-equipped lodge with all the comforts we needed for an amazing stay.
