B&B Hippo-Droom

We booked this place because we needed three separate beds, but the room setup we reserved wasn’t available. The owner himself said it had never been available, even though the “Suite” and “Junior Suite” listings were still live on Expedia when I posted this. Davy wasn’t willing to help and said he’d “never had a problem in ten years.” You can judge that for yourself from other reviews. The location is good for the Sonian Forest, with easy access to walking and biking trails. Breakfast was nice, and Denise was lovely. The building has an interesting history and seems mainly set up for events, which could be cool. There may be times when no one is at the front desk, even during the day. It’s a tiny place, with rooms in renovated horse stables, and feels more like an AirBnB than a hotel. Check ahead to confirm the room you need is actually available, and don’t count on the owner to be accommodating if there’s a problem.

The owners make you feel so welcome, and the setting is stunning. It’s hard to call this a B&B when it has everything you’d want from a five-star hotel, and more. Absolutely fabulous!

Davy and his charming wife look after this little hotel with so much care. It’s tucked right into the middle of one of Europe’s oldest and most beautiful woods. What a lovely place.

A cute place near the woods, not far from the city. The station is only 800 m away. The host was excellent and breakfast was good.
