Camping Spa d'Or

There are handy extras here, including a pool, restaurant, bar, small shop and a supermarket about a five minute drive away. We spent one night here in July in our motor home. It's a lovely family campsite in a remote spot, with modern, clean facilities. The showers run on a five minute timer and take a few minutes to reset, so get washed quickly unless you want to stand there cold with soap in your eyes.

The countryside is outstanding, with walks and outdoor activities nearby, and the evening entertainment is very good, with outdoor seating. Spa d'or has pitches, static caravans and lovely chalets for different budgets. The campsite is especially handy for the F1, though it gets crowded and noisy during the Grand Prix. There's a clean pool, snack bar, restaurant, bar and shop, but the shop only has essentials. The restaurant food tastes good, though it's not especially cheap and has few vegetarian options. The bar has a great selection of draught and bottled beers. Fresh baguettes are available by order each morning for €2. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and professional. I'd happily stay again for the F1 or to explore the beautiful Ardenne area.

We had one of the six bedroom static homes and thought it was brilliant. It was really clean. They provided clean bedding, and making the beds ourselves was no problem. Just remember to bring your own towels.

A lovely spot for relaxing while the children play. There are lots of activities, including some that are educational, plus woodland walks. Food and rolls are available on site, and there are good sized pitches as well as bungalows and chalets to rent. The swimming pool is cold.
