We celebrated our 10th anniversary here, and it was a magnificent stay. The room had real historic grandeur, and breakfast was fantastic. The domain is beautiful, and the marquis is so charming and friendly, with a big heart for animals. 100 percent recommend if you're in the area.

The breakfast was mind blowing, and the setting was a big part of the fun. The chateau, a flamboyant conversion of an old coach house built in the 1800s, is full of classical style. There's a large pond on the grounds, with geese and sheep roaming free. The host was very friendly and accommodating, and it was a perfect base for our visit to Pairi Daiza.

It has the feel of going back to the 18th century, and the rooms are amazing. The staff were friendly, the room and service were excellent, and getting there was easy. A marvelous experience, highly recommend. It's very close to Pairi Daiza.

We only needed somewhere for one night, not too far from the coast, around 2 to 3 hrs from Dunkirk. My wife found this place in a quick search, advertised as a chateau. When we arrived, it looked more like a large, somewhat run-down old farmhouse, and we wondered what we’d booked. Then we drove up, parked and spotted two little lakes or big ponds with ducks, geese and a peacock, plus sheep, goats, old carts and carriages. It started to feel like a hidden treasure. The owner greeted us at the huge front door with a big welcoming smile. He’s Italian/Belgium and dresses as if he’d travelled through time from the 1700s. In the short time we spent with him, we found him lovely and incredibly keen to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. The period furniture and fittings in the rooms, along with paper manikins dressed in period costumes, make it a lovely place for a romantic stay. We were lucky the restaurant was open for us. The owner sadly plans to close it because the workload is too much, and in my opinion he needs an investor. There are only 7 tables, so dinner feels personal and intimate. The menu is simple: they ask about allergies, then meat or fish. It’s 5 courses and changes each month. I photographed all our courses except the first. The food was excellent, at a high standard, though not Michelin, and dinner felt like stepping into the past. It cost 160 for two, including more wine than we needed. The Champaign infusion was lovely and different, and the homemade lemoncello was the best I’ve had, even though we visit Lemone on lake Garda. My wife fell for the goats and now wants one for our garden in London. I’m not so sure. We have to come back for a weekend. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Romantic place, with a Victorian style residence and a nice stay.
