Hotel Albert Plage

A pleasant hotel.

Hotel Albertplein has a warm, modern feel, and the rooms are well equipped with the comforts you need. Staff are friendly and attentive, and happy to help with excursion ideas or reservations. The service and rooms are consistently good. It's right in the centre of Knokke-Heist, with the beach and shopping streets within walking distance. You can get around easily, from the boulevard to local restaurants and cultural spots. A lovely base for a relaxing or active stay.

The location is great, but the hotel is tiny, with an unmanned reception, and you check in next door at the other hotel. Our room was fine for a night, though the pictures made it look much larger and more modern. Some parts of the bathroom were very dusty, even though the rest was clean, and the shower only had lukewarm water. For the quality, I don't think the price is justified.

We appreciated being given a room as soon as we arrived, even though we were early. But at first it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned: the bed and blankets were left open, there was mold in the bathroom, the soap dispenser was broken, the tissue box was empty, and we only had two towels. When I checked the bed more closely, I found hair on it and reported everything at reception. The gentleman said he'd sort it out, and by the time we came back the bed was made, extra towels were there, the dispenser was fixed, and supplies had been replenished. There was hair in the bathroom too, though, and the hygiene could be better. The mold should be dealt with. We stayed at Albert Plage and had breakfast at Hotel Nelson. We enjoyed it, and it was excellent, but €28 per person is quite pricey. Our room was small but worked perfectly well for us, and we liked having Rituals products to wash with. Still, €172 for a night felt too expensive for what we got.
