Hotel La Louve

The reception staff were friendly at check-in, and the price felt fair for an easy stay. There was no breakfast at the hotel, but being on a commercial street meant there were options nearby. The street gets busy, including at night on weekends, though the windows do a good job of keeping the noise out. The rooms were clean; the bathroom and heating were a little dated, but it had what I needed for a good night's sleep.

For a longer stay in La Louvière, the location is handy, just a short walk from downtown and the city's second train station. It's a small, intimate hotel that draws guests from around the world. The front desk is very nice and multilingual, the owner is there daily and friendly, breakfast is fresh and tasty, and the rooms look modern. A few things to keep in mind: teens from the area sometimes gather in the alley beside the hotel late into the night. The cleaning staff cleans well but doesn't always leave the room as they found it. Nothing was stolen, but windows were left open and the A/C turned off, for example. The parking lot is public and charges apply from 09h to 18h30 daily except Sundays and holidays. It tends to fill around 9h30 and 19-20h, so arriving then may mean parking on the street.

Absolutely horrible. I didn't sleep well, and this is a motel, not a hotel. It was very noisy at night, and I had to get up every morning to pay for parking at 8:30 or risk getting a ticket. The front desk was never staffed, and the place was very old. Don't waste your time or money. Don't bother.

My company paid for the stay. The place was clean and secure, and reception was helpful when someone was there. The beds were a bit small for me at 100 kg. There was no heating or air conditioning.
