Chalet Ardennais 240 - la Boverie - Rendeux

The surprise for me was the bill for water and electricity. We felt we had hardly used anything, so the costs shocked me. The cottage itself was fine, although the bed may feel small if you're used to a larger room. I also hadn't noticed that checkout was only allowed between 10 and 11, and I wanted to leave around 8. By chance, the receptionist arrived at the same time I did. She let me check out after cursing in French and giving me a furious look. She could have been a little more cheerful, and it's a shame things ended that way.

The park is tidy and well cared for, with nice playgrounds for the kids. You can spend the day relaxing by the Ourthe, and there's a supermarket and chip shop close by. La Roche-en-Ardenne is only a few kilometres away and makes a nice day trip; there are lovely walks in the area too. Our chalet was spacious, clean, and well equipped, with things like a DVD player and board games. We had good contact with the landlord, and the reception was welcoming, with a good menu and friendly staff. We had a great stay and will definitely be back. Highly recommended for everyone. There are some really beautiful, challenging hikes that start right at the estate, and it was great to unwind on the beach beside the Ourthe River afterward. The restaurant at the estate also serves delicious pizzas. We had a wonderful holiday in a lovely, clean chalet. It was easy to reach nearby villages, including Durbuy, Beffe, and La Roche. There are lots of activities nearby, and the region is beautiful and relaxing. The holiday village is peaceful, set among nature. Our chalet had plenty of room and was comfortable, apart from the lounge chairs, and it had everything needed for cooking. We had a very enjoyable stay.
