Hôtel Moulin De La Strument

The owner was unbelievably rude and insulting, and we were shown out of the 'hotel'. We didn't stay. The place felt dark, dingy and mothballed, and not somewhere I'd choose unless there were no other options. It seems strange that it still exists, let alone appears in guidebooks. We visited in mid-July, yet the hotel remained shut. The campsite was surreal too, like an eerie ghost town of trailers. Other campsites in the area were quite full, but these sites were overgrown in an unpleasant way, not like a meadow. Many of the permanent trailers looked abandoned, weathered and in bad repair. The guidebook described a nice site by a river, but what we saw was a stream, and the valley sides had been stripped of trees, leaving a lumber-like feel. The whole place is a long way from town. That might be fine if the walk along the valley were pleasant, but the route runs past decrepit industrial sites the whole way. Unless you want your holiday spoiled, I recommend not even visiting.
