Le Manoir De Morimont

The place looked beautiful at first. After checking in and heading out for groceries, we came across the awful Google reviews while finding our way back. Once inside again, we looked more closely. There was black mould in the bathroom and damp on walls throughout, often hidden behind paintings or decorations. Even the backs of the pillows were wet. Under the bed we found a condom and lots of dust, and the mattress was very dirty, with tiny red smears that might have been bed bugs. We confronted the host, who initially refused to do anything. After we kept raising the shortcomings and substandard health and safety conditions, he refunded us in cash. We took lots of photos and contacted booking to explain what had happened, including that we’d received cash back. The next day booking sent an automatic email saying the host claimed we hadn’t shown up and that we had to pay a no-show fee. We contacted booking again, and they got in touch with the host. He then messaged us accusing us of dishonesty. In the end, booking made sure we didn’t have to pay. We assume the host marked us as a no-show to claim a dishonest fee and stop us from being able to leave a review. If you want asthma from black mould and damp everywhere, and a dishonest host, this is the place for you.
