Villa Clara

We could only get two nights because the place was otherwise fully booked. It's spacious, clean, and sensibly priced. We'll go again!

The location is ideal, just a few hundred meters on foot from the heart of La Roche, but the value for money was disappointing. Four of us shared one bedroom and a sofa bed, and that bed was awful. It creaked constantly and was uncomfortable as a sofa too. A blanket under the mattress might have helped, but the creaking still made it uncomfortable. The rooms were dark, though I know that's the style of the house. Water pressure was low, and the kitchen facilities were a drawback. The free Wi-Fi only reached the bedroom, and payment had to be in cash.

A great base for exploring the surrounding area, with the center within walking distance. The room had everything needed for an overnight stay and breakfast.

It's close to the center of La Roche, which is a great location, and we could keep the bike in the garage. The car, though, had to stay further out on the street. We only got the key, and didn't see anyone afterward. The room was old and worn. The small shower had black mold in every crack, the kitchen was old, and the pots and pans were worn out. The sofa bed sagged and was too old for an adult, though my son could sleep on it. There are cooking facilities, a microwave, and a refrigerator, so you could manage a night or two if the shower doesn't bother you. You can hear everything in the house!
