Hotel Cathedrale

The bed was cosy, the rooms were clean and very spacious, and the owner was nice. But with no reception and no staff to help with needs, that was about as good as it got. Noise was awful, and quiet enough to sleep only between 1am and 7am. Chairs from the downstairs restaurant often blocked the entrance and exit, and the hallway smelled bad, though the rooms were okay. If constant noise all night doesn't bother you, it may be decent. For us, it was just meh.

I won't cry about it... First, I let my man book the hotel on his own because it was the last one in Liege that weekend. Then I got left in a corner room in Liege, Dirty Dancing style, while he took his best bike up and down the hills. We were ready to escape this noisy, noisy day and night, insignificant, unequipped hotel, or rather Brasserie room. There was no reception, you had to pass the Brasserie toilet to get to the room, the security lock seemed dodgy and they still use the number it came with from the factory, there was no telephone, no WiFi login details in the room, and only small bed cushions. The list goes on. Somehow, it was surprisingly clean for what it was! The plan: GOING TO BRUSSELS for the day, and hoping my man suffers at Liege-Baston-Liege. Anything at all to get away!

A lovely, central place to stay. Friendly staff, clean and tidy, and the shower had plenty of power. Highly recommended.

The location is excellent, right in the center and next to the parking garage. The hotel feels dated, but the room was fine, with a comfortable bed and a good bathroom and shower. There wasn't much noise inside the hotel, despite what other reviews say. The street was loud, with people talking and shouting, but after a few beers we slept wonderfully. Really good value. The hotel offers breakfast, though we didn't try it because there are several other breakfast options nearby.
