The rooms had fake detectors, or at least that's what they seemed to be, and the place was saturated with cigarette smoke. Even using an electric kettle in your room is banned, so you have to go from the second floor down to the kitchen just to make tea. You can’t eat dinner in your room either, you have to use the “dining room.” The internet was only 100 kb/s. The room was dirty and left uncleaned, with patches on the walls, old rotten wooden windows, sticky old floor covering, and no shelves in the cupboards. For two people, the charge is €100 per person per week, or €800 for four weeks. That’s enough for a decent apartment. We only got the conditions, really just the address, after signing the contract. The job at E&A was alright and the staff were nice, but the living conditions were miserable. Working in the Netherlands and settling in Belgium feels like a complete misunderstanding. If things were normal, people wouldn't be fleeing. They take money and build new locations while treating us worse than animals. Ukrainians in Poland have better conditions, that's for sure. It’s the 21st century, yet the internet is like this? Unlimited 5G from T-Mobile up to 225 Mbps costs €35 a month, but they seem unwilling to invest anything.

For a workers' hostel, it’s okay. The kitchen needs work, and so does the cleanliness downstairs.
