Easy to reach by bike, with a lovely enclosed terrace. It’s a quiet, pleasant place to stop for a drink and a snack, and good value too.

We ordered coffee and crumble pie, but the pie was completely dried out, with a crust like rusk. Yuck. We told the waiter and asked him to taste it, and he said he would. About 20 minutes later, we called him back for another beer and a cola and asked what he thought of the pie. He’d forgotten about it. When we asked to pay after 30 minutes, it was still untouched in the display case. Nothing was done about our comment, and the waiter didn’t even give us any feedback. We found that completely unacceptable, so we won’t be back.

There’s nothing about cycling to be found here, despite it being a cycle path. The place is atmospheric and beautifully laid out.

The drinks were delicious, and the service was excellent. We celebrated my birthday with 13 people, sharing great drinks platters and hot snacks. We’ll definitely do it again.
