Le Sorbier - Gîte et chambres d'hôtes

We thought we’d booked a nice weekend here, and the owner confirmed our room by email. Communication was already a little difficult since the owner only speaks French and replied now and then, but that seemed manageable at first. Then our room suddenly wasn’t available anymore. The B&B also rents through Booking and Airbnb, and something seems to have gone wrong there. After that, my emails and WhatsApp messages got no response, so I had no idea what was happening and thought our weekend was ruined. Luckily, we eventually found another nice place nearby. The service was terrible, and I wouldn’t recommend booking here. If you do, note that the jacuzzi closes at 7:30 PM, so using it in the evening under the stars, as the website advertises, isn’t possible.

Breakfast was delicious, and the jacuzzi, with its magnificent view, was a lovely way to unwind. Marilène also gave me a blissful massage, which was a perfect end to our holiday. The owners are warm and so friendly, and you really feel at home. The gite is stunning, almost like a fairytale, with beautiful rooms and views over the surrounding woods. The location is top-notch. I’ll definitely be back soon!

The owner even goes out of her way to help you find a restaurant. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, with a magnificent bathroom. Everything was impeccably clean, and I’m a bit of a clean freak. Don’t hesitate, it’s a truly wonderful place to stay.

Breakfast was generous, homemade, and organic, and the owners were so welcoming. The view is magnificent, and the place is peaceful and well located. We had a very pleasant weekend, it really feels like a little corner of paradise!
