The staff are friendly, the rooms are big, and it’s cheap, with bars across the road and the centre nearby. It’s a perfectly usable bed for the night if you’re on a budget and want to see this remarkable city. The downsides: you have to make your own bed, which I’ve never had to do anywhere else. The mattress was hard, and the pillows were flat. I was alone in my room, so both pillows were mine, and the blanket was like a rough blue army blanket. Check-in really is at 5 pm, as the reviews say. You can’t get in any earlier. I’d recommend it for a short stay if you’re watching your budget.

A functional modern building with a pleasant garden, and a decent place to stay overall. The meals were simple and the concrete decor was odd. Small annoyances cost it some stars for me, like nowhere to hang towels and staff who got irritated easily. Still, it was a good stay in general.

The shower took forever to get warm, and there was no way to adjust the temperature, just on or off. The hostel itself was okay, with fairly cheap beds and a simple breakfast. Parking isn't free, though the lot beside the building costs only 30 cents an hour and is free overnight.

The breakfast portions seemed to get smaller each day, and the Wi-Fi stopped working on our last day. This green hostel doesn't use the elevator, which I understand, but having no wastebasket in the rooms was a real inconvenience. There was also a leaking pipe and muddy water came from the taps. When I asked for clean drinking water in the kitchen, they were reluctant to give it to me and only did so when I refused to leave. Clean water is a basic thing to provide.

The food was hit or miss, sometimes okay and other days very poor. The rooms are extremely basic, with no soap or bins. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you don't have another option.
