Abdeshof

The common room worked well for both breakfast and evening drinks or card games, with a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. You pay at the bar using little notes and an honor system. Breakfast was a real treat: fresh bread and rolls, local cheeses, cold cuts, jams, yogurt, milk, fruit, pastries, and freshly squeezed orange juice. You can make your own coffee on the well-kept machine, and Lore checked whether guests wanted scrambled or sunny-side-up eggs with bacon. There was cocoa for the kids, too. Matthijs & Lore were welcoming from the start. Lore showed us around the farm, and our rooms were spotless and nicely put together. The beds were comfortable and roomy enough for taller people, and both the AC and fridge worked well. We couldn't find anything wrong with the rooms or shared space. A couple more bathroom hooks for towels might help, especially for bigger families. They were discreet but easy to reach on WhatsApp, and gave us good tips for local places and specialties. We had some lovely conversations about the farm's history and future. Our son loved the go-karts, trampoline, and lawn for soccer. Being near the hosts and animals made the place feel peaceful and easygoing. We were usually too tired from our city outings to sit outside with a glass of wine, but we'd like to do that next time. We'll be back to see Matthijs & Lore and their lovely farm. Stay healthy, you two, and warm regards from Leipzig!
