Breakfast alone was memorable: local bread, homemade jams, eggs, fruit, cheese, and delicious homemade Belgian waffles. Yolande and Jacques joined us at the table and made for lovely, interesting company. They were genuinely interested in their guests and so warm and welcoming, even though we arrived very late after a huge road trip from Denmark to Ireland. For the modest price, you get much more than a bed and a meal. We left with an experience we’ll cherish and can’t wait to return to see more of Mons. The room was beautiful and spotless, much nicer than the online photos suggested. It was quiet, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower felt heavenly.

A really cozy, family-run hotel!

We felt like part of the family here. The hosts were so kind, attentive, friendly, and professional, and the owner welcomed us warmly before showing us upstairs to our room on the second floor of his house. It’s less than a 5-minute walk from the city center. They even moved their own car so we could use their parking space. Our room was huge, clean, tidy, and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed, including a coffee maker, kettle, and plenty of coffee and tea. We were delighted with our stay and would definitely come back if we return to Mons. Absolutely recommended!

Breakfast was generous and excellent, with countless thoughtful touches. We ate with Jacques and Yolande Stellaman, and our warm conversations with them gave us plenty of great ideas for sightseeing. The 'chambre du ropieur' is right in the center of Mons, so it’s easy to get around on foot. It matched the hosts’ description as 'convivial,' 'chaleureux,' and 'économique.' The room looked just like the website photos, with careful furnishings and lots of lovely little details. We’d happily choose it again. Oliver and Kathrin
