We were so disappointed that we left a day early, and we won't be back. The hygiene was absolutely terrible. The photos set us up to expect a beautiful hotel, but that wasn't what we found. We booked a VIP package in a superior room through Groupon, which seemed to mean only a free drink and perhaps one extra square metre compared with a regular room. At checkout, the invoice showed we had actually paid more through Groupon for the supposedly superior room. Clean :)

The room had a broken hairdryer, a dusty ceiling, no safe, and no toilet brush, which can be inconvenient. Service at reception was friendly and helpful, with no complaints there. Breakfast was passable but bland, just basic products. Adequate, nothing more, and I wouldn't recommend it.

I liked the lovely setting, especially the pleasant walk along the Meuse River just behind the hotel. It was a delightful stay. I took off a star because the hotel was still in its original condition when I visited, though apparently a major renovation is planned.

It's very well maintained, and the staff are helpful. The quiet setting near the river and a hypermarket is a plus. Guests can use a free swimming pool and bicycles, though unfortunately the bikes are poor quality. It may not be especially suited to younger guests.

It used to be a Sofitel, Novotel, and Leonardo Hotel, among other things. The decor isn't nearly as old as people often claim, and the rooms are fairly large. There’s no elevator and no restaurant in the hotel.
