The glass-covered terrace room is something special. I loved reading while looking out over the river, taking a long bath, and having a lavish breakfast in the gilded front room. It’s a beautiful, deeply romantic place, with a warm and generous host, in perhaps the very best spot in the city. You can leave your cares behind here. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay in this calm, friendly house. The view of the citadel is beautiful, our bedroom was comfortable and lovely, and breakfast was excellent. The host was so kind and welcoming. A great base for visiting Namur.

We only got to spend one night at Villa Balat, which was a shame. Muriel was a wonderful host, and her B&B is lovely. Our room was beautifully decorated, with a quaint bathroom, gorgeous linens, and a bed that was so comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat, with a beautiful view of the river and the citadelle. The river Meuse location is peaceful and within walking distance of Namur’s attractions. We also enjoyed relaxing in the garden among the flowers. We’d definitely come back.

A really lovely, original place full of character! I’d recommend cozy Villa Balat to anyone looking to stay in Namen. Muriel is such a warm host and makes sure her guests feel completely looked after from beginning to end.

Muriel is incredibly kind and helpful, and breakfast featured the best homemade or local ingredients. This eclectic, stunning house has a strong art nouveau feel, and it’s also a beautiful B&B. We kept spotting little surprises in every room, right down to the smallest details. We loved every minute of our stay!
