Cosmopolite Hotel Nieuwpoort-Bad

On the second night, we ordered dinner through room service, the only option during corona times. They said it would arrive between 6PM and 7 PM, but by 9PM our main course still hadn't come. I called reception on my own phone because the room phone didn't work. The receptionist just said, "well we have a lot of guests today, so that's just it," then hung up. Lovely service, let's say. When we arrived, the room had no heating even though it was -5 outside. Luckily, they fixed it a few hours later.

For a "4-star" hotel, the breakfast was a disappointment. The buffet was very neat, but the choice was quite limited and some items weren't fresh. We went as a family on a Tuesday morning during the holiday season. The price to quality ratio was poor.

The location is great, but the staff seemed nervous and overworked when the hotel was full. Food was supposed to be served from 6 to 7pm, but the starters came 45 minutes late and the main course didn't arrive until 9:15. When we asked the receptionist for more information, he was very rude and told us to live with it instead of apologizing or offering us a drink. He seemed overwhelmed. Listening to customers and not hanging up on them should be basic for a receptionist.

The hotel is right on the beach and fairly accessible, though nothing out of the ordinary. We had two rooms. My accessible room was well equipped, with a large wet room and a bed with enough legroom for my hoist.
