We’d stay here again. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very good, and the location worked well for us. The hotel is on the main shopping street, just off the main square, where the Christmas market was about a 50-metre walk away. The train station, with services to Bruges and beyond, is around 10 minutes on foot. We chose it partly because it was cheaper than other nearby options and had a family room for four. The room was fine, with comfortable beds and a good bathroom. There was enough space, though it wasn’t huge. The hotel and rooms are basic and a little dated, but clean. We were four floors up and the one lift was fine. We couldn’t get the safe working, and the Wi-Fi didn’t reach our room, though it worked in some other parts of the hotel. Parking information on the website could be clearer. It directs you to check in first to get a discounted rate at a public garage. We found somewhere to stop so we could walk to the hotel, which is in a pedestrian area, but it took more than 10 minutes of driving around the centre to find parking. There’s 30 minutes of free parking on nearby streets, but it was busy. At check-in we were told the garage had no spaces left, though staff suggested we try anyway. The Citibee Oostend garage was very good and cost €22.50 per day without the discount. Next time, I’d go straight there before checking in. Breakfast had a small hot selection and a good range of cold options. It gets fairly busy after 9am, though it opens at 7.30am.

A comfortable stay at a two-star hotel in a good location. The rooms and washroom were clean, with a shower, toilet and basin. Breakfast was a nice European-style spread. If the room gets warm, you may want a fan, though check with reception first since some rooms might have air conditioning.

The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. We stayed three nights for the local Christmas markets and thought this was an amazing budget hotel. I liked the atmosphere and the old historic features that remain in many parts of the building. The bedroom was adequate, with a comfortable bed, though a thicker quilt would have helped. I left the radiator on low all night. The shower room was lovely, with a large, powerful shower, and there was lots of storage. As a British guest, I missed having a kettle for my morning cup of tea. There’s also only one lift, which is a lifeline for my disabled husband, so we had some long waits going up and down.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel is in a perfect location. But for the price, I was disappointed by what we got. The room was small, the bathroom tiny, and breakfast was simple, with basic food. There was no coffee or tea maker, just plastic cups, and no parking of its own. I could have paid the same for a hotel of a similar rating that was much more luxurious, so I wouldn’t recommend it. McDonald’s is across the street, with Pizza Hut on the left.

The staff were friendly, and our room was clean. Breakfast was really good, well replenished, and they seated us quickly even though there were lots of people. We knew we’d booked a budget room, so the size wasn’t a surprise, but it felt a bit cold. The door had a huge gap at the top and didn’t lock properly, which made the room noisy and left us feeling unsafe. On our last day, our key wouldn’t let us into the room at all. The headboard also needed a more thorough clean, as there was a lot of dirt visible on it, and the area under the bed didn’t seem properly cleaned either. I won’t speculate about what the dirt was. The stay was fine overall, but these things need attention before we’d consider coming back.
