I booked through a site thinking it was the hotel’s own reservation center, then found I’d been charged an extra 56 Euros. Be careful booking online: there’s a website that looks like the hotel’s booking center, but it isn’t, and it charges more than 50 Euros in extra fees. Its address seems to be somewhere in The USA at a postal service. I contacted the Hotel, but they didn’t seem to care. I went to the Local Police for information, and they said the Hotel is obliged to remove the website that’s ripping people off. If nothing is done, I’ll contact the Belgium Consumers Affairs Office and file a complaint against the Hotel.

The place looked run down and dirty, and the staff were rude with a bad attitude. The cafe floor staff need replacing, and the people working there need training in basic manners. Under the current management, this hotel doesn’t deserve any stars. Disgusting place. I intend to report the issue to the tourist authorities, and I’ll never stay here.

The refurbished rooms were a treat, and the hotel staff were very helpful. We spent four lovely cool days in Oostende, using a three-day transport card to get around and see lots of fantastic sights. The Kust tram ride to Niewpoort was fabulous.

Our room had a little balcony overlooking Kursaal Casino, with a side view of the sea. The bed was very comfortable, and even with the tram stop right outside and restaurants and boutiques nearby, the room stayed calm and quiet, a good place to rest. Hotel du Parc has just been renovated and feels cozy and stylish inside, with everything needed for a pleasant stay. The hotel is beautiful and sits in the heart of the city, where history and tradition meet modern comfort. The coast promenade is only a five-minute walk away. Special thanks to the friendly hotel staff. They were attentive, professional, and always helpful. A really good place for a holiday. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely return to Hotel du Parc soon.
