Hôtel Vedette

The surroundings are lovely, and the room was great. The bed was good and the shower was hot. Good value for the money.

We couldn’t sleep that first night because the room was unbearably hot. The building holds the heat, the windows only open a little, and there’s no proper cooling or air conditioning. We rang early in the morning and said we might leave if nothing was done, but nobody called us back. We had to chase it ourselves around 2 p.m. At first they said there was a fan in the room, though there wasn’t one. Later they messaged to say they didn’t have enough fans and suggested opening the windows, which barely open and did nothing. Eventually a cleaning lady brought us a fan. There was no reception, no staff around, and no real help. The place felt abandoned. The room was nicely designed and the cleaning lady was kind, which is the only reason I’m not giving one star. Really disappointing for a hotel claiming to be four stars.

We really enjoyed our two nights at Vedette, especially the top floor suite with its river view. The hotel’s design is beautiful, and the service was very good. Breakfast was a joy, and the owners made perfect hosts. A lovely boutique hotel in a beautiful part of Belgium. We loved it.

We had a really comfortable bed in a large room, with a coffee machine right there. This modern little boutique hotel sits beside the river and even has a room for storing bikes. Breakfast was nice, and the friendly staff helped us out by arranging gluten-free options.
