We loved the spacious rooms and designer interior in this lodge, set in an old castle. It’s one of our favourite places in Belgium, even though it’s a few kilometres from Maastricht. Alpacas, chickens and other animals live on the grounds. There’s plenty to do nearby: the largest labyrinth in Europe, the zoo, Luik, Wallonia, Valkenburg, Alden Biesen Templar castle, Oud-Rekem, Belgium’s most beautiful castle village, Roman Catacombs, caves, and 10.000 year old flintstone mines. It’s close to the Belgium-Dutch-German border triangle too.

We spent a week here in summer 2022 and would happily return. The garden seating was lovely for watching the sunset, and the well-kept outdoor space gave us lots of room to move around. The farm is peaceful, a good escape from everyday bustle, and the owners were friendly and humorous. They have alpacas and chickens, which added to our stay without disturbing us, plus a dog who quickly won our trust and gave us plenty of fun moments. The owner is happy to share the farm’s rich history with interested guests. Our vacation apartment was beautiful and clean.

The greenery and quiet setting made it easy to unwind, and everything was neat and beautifully decorated. The owners were incredibly friendly, and my 10-year-old brother loved the big trampoline and running around with their cheerful little dog. Seeing the owners' alpacas was another nice part of the stay. Hof van Eggertingen was simply wow. We’ll be back!

The alpaca walk was fantastic, and we even got to hear about the region’s history. It’s a quiet, child-friendly place with a super friendly host. The room, garden and surrounding grounds were all very well maintained. We had a wonderful stay at Hof van Eggertingen, highly recommended!

A quiet spot that’s still right near Maastricht, Tongeren, Genk and Liège. This authentic holiday home was cosy, spotless and well equipped, with good beds and lovely furnishings that show care in the choice of materials. It’s one of the better holiday homes we’ve visited.
