ibis budget Brussels South Ruisbroek

For a budget hotel, it was good enough. The room was clean and not too small, and the receptionist was nice and helpful. I knew the room had limited facilities, like no kettle or hair dryer.

For the price, the location near the city centre is decent. We spent a few days exploring Brussels, and it’s three train stops from Brussels Central Station. Trains run often, about every 30 minutes, and there’s also a bus to Brussels midi station. Both are within walking distance. The reception staff were welcoming and accommodating, and gave us easy routes into the city and ideas for what to explore. Housekeeping did a great job too, cleaning our room without us even having to ask. The room was small but cozy for a budget stay. Ventilation and bathroom privacy could be better. The toilet had no lock, and the bathroom door was translucent, which felt awkward. I might come back, but not with friends or family because of the privacy issues. If you’re travelling with friends, I’d suggest getting two rooms.

Check-in took 45 minutes, and the reception staff didn’t seem properly trained. The room was very dirty: hair on the floor, food on the shower room floor, toothpaste in the sink, and cigarette-smelling bedding. Wouldn’t recommend.

The location is very convenient, just seven minutes from the park and ride for Brussels. The rooms are basic but clean, with a comfortable bed.
