My brother and I brought our mother here for her birthday last weekend, and by the end we honestly couldn't wait to leave. What should have been a relaxing stay became tense and left a bad taste that could sour a whole holiday. On the morning we checked out, we saw two other guests at reception looking frustrated as they tried to sort out another apparent miscommunication. They were getting the same deadpan, passive aggressive treatment we had experienced. Before arriving, we emailed about dietary restrictions and asked whether breakfast was included in the price we'd paid. The hotel confirmed in writing that it was. When we arrived, staff first said it wasn't included, then took that back and assured us it was fine. The next morning, as we sat down to breakfast, the restaurant chef came to our table and said we had to pay, regardless of what reception had told us. After all the back and forth, we were aghast. Being lectured while trying to eat was something else. If the hotel confirmed in writing and in person that breakfast was included, then later found out that was wrong, it should own its administrative and communication mistake. Instead, we were told what reception said didn't matter, and the chef even implied we were trying to get a free meal. It's inappropriate and extremely unprofessional to make guests deal with internal miscommunication in a hostile, guilt-tripping, gaslighting way, keep reversing the decision, and ultimately blame us for it. I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone.

A very pleasant stay, with great service at a nice hotel. The rooms across the river could use a bit of renovation.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot surrounded by nature, and the value is good. The rooms and building have been updated, though they aren't brand new. There's a good restaurant on site with great beer and wine. Call ahead if you're planning dinner. The train station is across the street, but having a car is useful since there aren't any shops nearby.

The setting is quiet, but it’s quite remote, so getting around without a car would be difficult. The hotel buildings sit on opposite sides of the river, joined by a bridge. We’d booked a room with a three-course dinner through Bongo, and the reservation was clearly shown in our booking. When we arrived, though, the only dinner available was the buffet. The food was okay, but it wasn’t what we’d booked, and staff said there was nothing they could do. If we’d known, we would have stayed somewhere else.

After two nights in a tent on the “entre lesse et lomme” trail, a proper bed and a good shower were very welcome. The bed was comfortable, and there was WiFi and parking. Our room was clean, though it faced the road instead of the nicer river side. It was quiet at night, so we slept well. We stayed one night and had breakfast, with good Douwe Egberts coffee. There’s also a buffet dinner in the evening. The television wasn’t much of an experience, but that didn’t take away from the stay near the great St Hubert.
