Den Haegepreeck

The location is lovely, and the old house has loads of charm. We enjoyed a nice weekend in Horebeke despite the poor weather, thanks in large part to the superb setting. With better weather, eating outside would probably be a plus. Upstairs is very spacious, with beautiful rooms, but there are some drawbacks. There was often a bothersome drain smell. Running the downstairs shower for a moment helped, though the smell remained strong, and the basket in the shower was positioned properly. Under the beds we found an old dusty sock from previous guests, lots of cobwebs, and a toy they’d left behind. Also, if 8 adults need to eat indoors, the dining area is very cramped. It works, but there isn’t much room on the table.

We spent a weekend here with our firefighter friends and had everything we could possibly need. It’s a lovely holiday home in beautiful surroundings, with a real oasis of quiet. Definitely a place we’d repeat.

It has the feel of Bokrijk, with all the comforts you need. The beds are good, everything was spotless, and the surroundings are beautiful and wonderfully peaceful. A top destination!

Such a lovely place to unwind and get some rest. I’d highly recommend it to anyone.
