Auberge du Pêcheur

The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, but the meal was average at best and overpriced. I paid 30 euros for five meatballs and fries; a filet steak at a nearby restaurant cost less. I went elsewhere for dinner on my second night, and I'd suggest looking around for other options. The room was above the bar or restaurant, and around 22:30 loud music started. For an hour, 80's power ballads came thudding through the floor, with every word and note audible. It stopped at exactly 23:30, so I could finally sleep. Not ideal in a four star hotel midweek, especially with work early the next morning. The location in a small town beside a river or canal is really nice, with huge houses around it. My room was enormous, with a lounge area, sofa and TV, plus a separate area with a desk about 10ft wide. There was also a large, very comfortable bed, and a bathroom with a big bath and separate shower.

I attended an ITI Course lecture on Thursday, 28th August 2025. Among other things, I had ZEEBAARSFILET MET MOSSELEN, a delicate sea bass fillet with mussels.

The bedrooms were very comfortable, the meals delicious, and the area set aside for children was spacious and child friendly. We spent three days at the Auberge du Pecheur for a family reunion, with over 70 relatives staying there and sharing meals and indoor and outdoor activities. Organising the event went very smoothly, and the staff were professional and provided excellent service. Thanks for making us feel at home in your beautiful Auberge!

The staff were friendly and did their best to meet everyone's needs. The food arrived on time and tasted great, especially the excellent steak. With the canal right nearby, it's a lovely spot for a meal or an event with friends and family. Kids have plenty of room to run and play, and there's a large customer parking area in front of the restaurant. I can highly recommend it.
