The place could be a real gem, but some furniture needs replacing and it needs a thorough clean before each change of guests. We were almost all taken aback by the rooms’ condition. Compared with last year, the price has gone up while the furnishings have become more damaged and dirty. Many things look worn out, there’s dust and lots of cobwebs, and dead mosquitoes were scattered on the windows and floor. People leaving reviews here probably haven’t stayed this year.

We had a fantastic stay, and breakfast was so much fun because we finally got to meet the owners! They also own the beautiful forest café Het Hijgend Hert. The place is magnificent, and the two owners are amazing. When you find somewhere like this, not much else compares.

The breakfast was delicious, the ambiance beautiful, and the hostess very friendly. Just keep in mind that if you’re in room 1, sleeping in may be difficult: the beeps from the front door lock will wake you up.

There’s lots of space for everyone, and it’s a really beautiful spot. The swimming pond isn’t in use anymore, though, and part of the garden is unavailable too.
