Villa Achille

It was a pleasant enough place until a €250 electricity charge showed up for two days. Maybe somebody's pedaling away somewhere to make all that power for next to nothing. I contacted the landlord more than once, but they didn't seem able to be reasonable. Such a shame.

We booked this cottage through Booking.com for a family break from the city at the end of December. Only after paying did we learn that electricity use would be charged separately, though we suspect we were billed for more than we used. There was also a €7 charge for each log if we wanted a wood fire. Neither cost had been mentioned in the Booking.com listing. I'm posting this because I think rental costs should be made clear.

We had a great stay, which makes the later charges from the landlords all the more disappointing. They were unjustifiably high, even though we showed clear meter readings. I'd advise people to stay away.

The cabin is okay, but after an evening using the hot tub with the men, they kept nearly 200 euros of the deposit for electricity, based on meter readings that were completely inaccurate.
