I’m not much of a breakfast person, but the cappuccino was really tasty, and so were the ice creams. The room was beautiful, the location was great, and we got a super friendly welcome.

The waffle was frozen and just reheated, and it was so hard it hurt my mouth. It didn’t taste good either. We ordered a pancake because the photo clearly showed them for sale, but were simply told “no” with no explanation. That felt misleading. I wouldn’t recommend eating a waffle or pancake here.

The waitress was excellent, and the Brussels waffle was delicious.

We slept wonderfully and enjoyed our stay. The soundproof glass meant the tower bells didn’t disturb us, and in good weather the small terrace was a lovely spot for a glass of wine. The hotel is in the middle of the market square, with a view of the magnificent Basilica of Tongeren, right in the heart of historic Tongeren. There are two rooms, each with a large bed, a small bathroom stocked with soaps and creams, and plenty of clean towels. Just what you need for a visit to this fantastic city. The square has charming terraces, and downstairs the super friendly owners run an ice cream parlor with different coffees and freshly made ice cream. Their specialty is dog ice cream, so four-legged friends can enjoy a treat on the outdoor bench too. Breakfast is available for a reasonable €20, though we didn’t try it because my sister lives in Tongeren. The welcome was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back, but we’ll bring our own pillows!
