What a lack of professionalism. In April 2025, I asked to reserve all the rooms and the entire estate, including a reception hall, for a simple wedding celebration in June 2026. The owner said there would be availability and asked me to call back in the summer, after her vacation and renovations. At the end of June 2025, she confirmed she had noted my request, saying she still had the sticky note on her computer. When I asked for a quote, she said prices hadn't changed from one we had received several years earlier for another event we couldn't hold because of COVID. She then asked me to call again in September, as she was away for the summer. I got back in touch on September 23, and was told she'd just received a building permit for an extension and could no longer host us. We'd lost six months and now have a much shorter time to start over. The whole thing felt incredibly cavalier.

I strongly advise against booking this venue. We rented the whole place for a private birthday party a year ago, and had a string of problems: the hall flooded, the power went out, it apparently wasn't registered with the Belgian police as a reception hall, and some of our BBQ equipment was stolen the next day. The manager was dishonest, and I won't go into every detail here. She ended up keeping our security deposit over a supposedly lost room key. The deposit was a check she said she couldn't cash when we booked, yet she insisted on cash for the refund.

The venue was beautiful, classy, and pleasant for my recent birthday party. The manager welcomed us warmly and paid attention to what we wanted. I also got to try some of their food, and it was fantastic. Highly recommend.

I booked three nights for a work trip and strongly advise against staying here. When I arrived Friday at 3:15 p.m., there was nobody there, even though I'd said I'd get there around 3. I texted, and the manager came 15 minutes later. He barely greeted me and sounded annoyed, saying I'd been told to give him 30 minutes' notice. I wasn't about to text while on the highway 130 km away. I got settled quickly before heading to work. The bathroom light was out, there was only a tiny bath towel, and the bed had just a blanket even though it was 5 degrees outside. The common areas were filthy and in disarray. I have health issues that can cause tetany attacks when I'm stressed or tired. After getting back around 8 p.m., I began feeling unwell about half an hour later and thought an attack was coming. I called the manager for help, but there was no answer. I got worse and had to wait for the attack to pass. I tried again on the emergency number and still got no answer. Since my attacks can be serious and sometimes lead to a hospital, I left to look for help elsewhere and texted the manager to explain why I had to leave. He received the message but never replied. Luckily, a woman nearby welcomed me kindly and arranged for a doctor to help. The manager also refused to refund my stay. I've rarely encountered people so unwelcoming and inhumane, seeming to care only about the money. I won't let this go, as I believe there was a failure to assist someone in danger, and several witnesses were there.
