Ardennen-etape promotes this as ideal for business events, but it really isn’t. The place was filthy, the bedroom wallpaper was peeling, and there were only two public toilets for 30 people. There was no coffee machine, tea container or machine, or water containers for everyone, and no seating or table space for 30 people to eat. When we raised all this, we were told it was a holiday home. They should take responsibility for what they advertise on their site. I’ll never come back.

The staff were friendly and the rooms neat and nice in this small hotel. Breakfast was continental, with a good selection of French food. You can also have a nice dinner for 20-30 euros.

The location is stunning, and this quaint, well-hidden place is a lovely find. The staff try very hard, maybe a little too hard, to please. The building feels somewhat tired, with stiff doors and some general wear in the fittings.

The owners looked after us really well. It’s a lovely, quiet spot out in the countryside.
