Biohotel Turnhout

The room itself was fairly clean, but very humid, and the sheets smelled strange and felt itchy when we went to bed. The mattresses were too big for the bed bases. The whole building had a horrible smell, though it was less strong in the room. The shared bathroom was dirty, the shower head was left in the tub with no way to hang it on the wall, and the towels smelled odd. We were given one bath towel and one hand towel for two people. The bathroom curtains had holes, as if burned by cigarettes. Most of the electrical sockets were hanging loose, and some lights didn't work. The swimming pool was covered in green stuff. It felt more like a badly maintained house than a hotel. The owner wasn't there when we arrived, even though I'd called to say we'd be there in 30 minutes. I called again and he showed up 10 minutes later. He made us pay before we could even enter the room. The card machine supposedly wasn't working, so I had to get cash from an ATM. When we left at 10:30 AM, he wasn't there again, so we left the keys on the counter. Avoid this place.
