The hotel is well placed for sightseeing, with the Waterloo memorial only 50 m away. My room had lots of space, good WiFi, a fridge, and a hair dryer. Parking was hassle-free, and breakfast was more than enough. The nearby hotel restaurant serves good gourmet food for lunch or dinner.

Breakfast was a great way to start the day, with fresh bread and pastries, cheese and meats, cereals, waffles, sweet treats, coffee, and orange and apple juice. There were only a couple of other guests that we saw, but the buffet was still generous. We didn’t try the restaurant because it was closed, so check its hours before booking. It looked much more modern and well cared for than the hotel itself, and we might have eaten there otherwise. The hotel was bright and clean inside, with a somewhat chintzy Waterloo theme. The room was clean too, though signs of years of neglect showed: peeling paint, damaged doors, and unfinished fixtures. The shower head wouldn’t reach its wall bracket, and neither the safe nor the mini-fridge seemed to work. A little fan was provided, which was lucky because it was unbearably hot day and night.

The room decor was beautiful and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was perfect! It’s a lovely hotel, and we’ll come back with the kids to try the restaurant. They have a nice indoor play area.

The restaurant was excellent the night we ate there, with amazing food, great beer, and excellent staff. Our room was clean and nicely fitted out, with good heating and windows that opened so it didn’t get too hot. Breakfast was alright, though nothing special.
