The room was a decent size, the staff were lovely, and the location is perfect. There’s parking for motorbikes, too. But the place needs a serious clean and some care. It has real potential, and the owner could use help giving it a deep clean and some attention. It’s fine for a group of lads on a bike trip, but I wouldn’t choose it for a romantic getaway with the wife.

For the price, this is a good cheerful option right in the heart of Ypres. The breakfast was a solid continental buffet, with fresh orange juice that was kept topped up and even an egg-boiling station. We fit four bikes into the small garage; the rest were left on the road outside, and we had no trouble. My only gripe was the tiny hand soap and one little packet of body wash each, about the size of a ketchup sachet.

The location is attractive, but I’d avoid staying here. The staff are unfriendly if you complain about the service, and nobody answers the night number.

The owner let us keep our motorbikes in his garage, which was priceless. It’s a nice hotel very close to the city centre. Breakfast is continental, but there’s enough to get you going for the day.

The buffet breakfast gave us a good start for exploring Ypres and the surrounding area. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. We’d arrived late after watching rugby in Lille, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They’d even drawn us a map to find our room. An excellent hotel in central Ypres. Many thanks!
