This could be a beautiful spot, but the sea is covered in algae, there’s a smell from the nearby sewage treatment plant, and the infrastructure feels underdeveloped, with no promenade or sidewalks.

The pools, bar, and restaurant are all excellent, and there are two great squash courts as well. The rooms could use improvement, and the TV is barely there. The beach is small, so I’d choose another one. It’s a nice place if you’re happy by the pool or willing to drive to a better beach.

It looks lovely in photos 😆, but the complex feels neglected. The pool loungers are filthy, there’s only one dirty sauna, the internet keeps cutting out, and the reception staff aren’t very helpful. The little store has few products and closes early. In the squash court, the air conditioning is weak. There’s also a terrible noise from the power transformer in the evenings, along with the sewage treatment plant nearby. The pig farm often causes a horrible smell, and there are loads of mosquitoes, so sitting on the terrace isn’t enjoyable. Bird droppings are everywhere, including around the entrance gate where pigeons perch. People leave towels on the pool loungers, smoke by the pool, and no one does anything about it. The gate staff also let outsiders into the pool. It’s a pity, because the place looks nice.

We had a gorgeous view of the coastline from our room, and the beach was only a three minute walk away. The resort is remote, but still near a few restaurants and shops, and it has its own shops, gym, barber, and restaurant. Staff spoke several languages, which made things easier. We stayed three days and, as a weekend break, I didn’t hate it. It was very crowded when we visited. There are two pools across the main road from each other, and getting a sunbed was tough. By 9am, around 90% were taken by towels, even though their owners didn’t show up for hours. The swim-up bar at the large pool looks great, but only two servers were making drinks for what felt like the whole resort, so waits could be long. Drinks were expensive too. For the price of three cocktails, you could drive 5km out of town to Lidl and buy a few liters of alcohol to last the night. Our room was okay, though the boiler didn’t work, the internet and TV were initially out, and the AC units leaked onto the balconies. The nearby beach is small, gets packed quickly, and the water isn’t very pleasant to swim in, even by Bulgarian standards. If you want a Bulgarian beach holiday without the wild crowds at Sunny Beach, this place might suit you.
