Hotel Flamingo

Hotel Flamingo surprised me in a good way. The room was large, clean, and comfortable, with two toilet seats, a bathtub, and a separate shower. The pool area is good for children, with a playground, seating, and several different pools. I'd recommend this hotel to families.

The breakfast buffet is at Flamingo Grand, and you can also use the swimming pool at the adjacent Flamingo Grand. Our room was spacious and clean, with comfortable beds, though the bathroom was a bit dated.

The conference area was spacious, and there was plenty of seating in the restaurant, with lots of buffet choices. Food quality wasn't exceptional. The staff were nice, and the rooms were large and clean with a comfortable bed. I can't really rate the location since this was a business trip and we didn't leave the hotel.

After over a month past its expiry date, milk from the hotel supermarket was sold to us, and our children became very sick as a result. I would not go back. The rooms, balcony, and especially the bathroom were filthy. There were brown liquid marks inside and outside the toilet seat. The shower was smelly and covered in limescale, and the floor stank. The side elevators were filthy too, with dust and even mud that stayed there for a week. The windows were dirty. My child got sick and threw up by the pool; it dried there and was still there when we left three days later. Green dirt lined the pool edges. Drops and spots on the coffee machine were never cleaned and just built up during our week. At least the bed sheets were clean. Storage rooms and staff elevators weren't marked as staff only, so you could wander in by accident. The staff didn't seem to have common sense, and I wouldn't expect helpful assistance. If you don't speak Bulgarian, you might not understand how fed up the staff are or how much they dislike tourists, but you can still hear it in their tone and see it in their gestures.
