Hotel Kaliakra Marе

The rooms were clean and lovely, and the location is great, but don't choose this hotel for the food. It doesn't feel like four stars. The employees work hard, yet most of the food wasn't fresh or up to that standard. Some cheese tasted strange, the chicken wasn't cooked properly, and the same vegetables seemed to sit in the same pot for weeks. Sometimes I wondered if they were serving leftovers from other hotels, though maybe hotels all rotate food and that's why it wasn't fresh. The strange thing is that the hotel is full. The staff deserve a better place to work, perhaps in England or the USA.

The two waiters, Petko and Nikolai, were fantastic: attentive, friendly and genuinely professional. They were the bright spot in an otherwise very disappointing stay at Kaliakra Mare at the end of August. Food was by far the biggest problem, especially when it's meant to be a main reason to choose all-inclusive. The beef soup tasted like lamb one day, while the chicken soup was completely flavorless, as if leftovers had been watered down over several days. I was served raw chicken from the buffet, which is unacceptable. The pancakes during the first days were sour and inedible. Mustard, BBQ sauce and mayonnaise sat out in the sun all day without being replaced or cleaned. The fruit bowls stayed dirty with Nutella and sauce throughout our stay. Cucumbers were dry and old, salads wilted, and the garlic paste clearly wasn't fresh. If you're coming for the food, avoid this hotel. The room had enough space, but cleanliness was below standard. Our sheets weren't changed all week, and we had to ask several times for fresh towels. Housekeeping mopped using water that was already dirty from other rooms. The overall experience fell well short of expectations. It may be fine if you only need somewhere to sleep, but for good food and proper service in an all-inclusive, Kaliakra Mare should come off your list.

The sea view from this hotel was the most picturesque one we could have wished for. We stayed at Kaliakra Mare in early August 2025 and had a delightful family holiday. Kids are welcome everywhere, and the services are accessible for them. We booked two double rooms and appreciated being allocated rooms next to each other, with another room between them. They were bright, clean and comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and our view looked over the pools and sea. The beach is nearby. There were positives and negatives, but the positives outweighed the negatives. Most staff were pleasant and attentive. A few seemed bothered when asked for a drink or when we tried to greet them. My child was impressed that one waiter spoke several languages and could help foreign visitors. The food was splendid, with something to eat at any time: breakfast, lunch, snack bar and dinner, plus drinks throughout the day. Huge thanks to the kitchen staff, who kept preparing food despite the heat. I think their work is the toughest. Thanks also to the dining room staff who cleared dishes and tables and kept places available, the grill staff, bar waiters, housekeeping, pool staff and reception team. I wish more guests would leave tips in the designated places. The staff deserve them. One dinner had a Bulgarian theme, with dancers in traditional Bulgarian “nosii” costumes and artifacts performing in the Meals Hall, along with Bulgarian food. We appreciated the hotel's gesture. The kitchen had slowly grilled a whole pig, with other grilled meats and vegetables too, plus “pitka” round bread, lyutenitsa and other delicious Bulgarian dishes. My child was so pleased with the visit that they even wrote a review in the hotel's book. I've attached it because it describes our stay so well. Thank you, Kaliakra Mare's Personnel. It's a very nice hotel right on the beach, with a lovely manager and staff. The only downside is the extremely loud music from the summer stage at ganvie beach club stage. It started in 2023 and has been tormenting guests at kaliakra mare, kaliakra beach and maritim hotels. The noise pollution is enormous, and with so many families with kids, that awful noise makes the resort miserable. Sadly, because of it, we can't come back to lovely Albena now.
