Hotel Oasis

I paid in advance for a summit in Albena, and the organizer booked me into Oasis with no refund option. I should have looked into it first. When I saw the room, I accepted that the money was gone and went to another hotel. The place is cheap, but in my view it's not worth paying anything for. What pushed me to write this was how the receptionists treated me. In Albena you have to pay for access and parking, and there is no hourly option, just 20 BGN for 24 hours. If you leave the area and come back, you have to pay for another 24 hours unless your hotel helps with a special card. I didn't know that. I told the ladies at Oasis reception I wanted to pay for 24 hours, leave to look at other places on Booking, and come back for my baggage. They said that was no problem and didn't warn me. I couldn't get a refund because the organization had paid for the accommodation, so technically I was still a client. After I found and booked somewhere else, I returned to the access area and learned I couldn't get back in. The guard said my hotel should have helped. I went to the receptionist expecting it could be sorted out, but she said, "Sorry, you didn't say you are coming back, can't help." I don't usually spend energy on this sort of problem. I understood what I was dealing with, said "Ok, Karen", smiled, and left. I'll still eat their semi-decent food each day until I leave, since I'm technically a client, but I will never return. Instead, try Pino - Villa, Casa, Cucina e Terrazza, right by the Albena gates. It doesn't have all-inclusive, but the place is lovely, parking is free, the restaurant looks great and the food tastes good. Breakfast was free, the staff were very professional, and they can drive you to the beach. :D Spend your money wisely.
