Hotel Oasis

The hotel itself is quiet and right by the beach, just the place for a lazy holiday. But I wouldn’t eat at the restaurant. It felt unhygienic and the staff were very rude, so I won’t be eating there for the rest of my vacation.

The staff were lovely, especially the helpful front desk team, and the masseuse had a lovely touch. But the massage bed smelled moldy, and the room had a lot of insects, a damaged insect screen, a bad-smelling bathroom and a broken shower head. Cleanliness was poor. This is an old hotel that needs refurbishment. The sea view was nice, though the cranes nearby gave it an industrial feel.

I stayed in August 2020. The best thing is the location: close to the beach, a little set back, and every room has a sea view. Helios hotel, which also owns Oasis, is next door, and its restaurant Margo's is great for a meal. The rooms badly need renovation, and the furniture smelled old. The parking is called free, but it's just a rocky strip of land across the road where anyone can park, and lots of locals and visitors use it on weekends. The breakfast is also described as free, but it wasn't included in the room price in the hotel's offer. It's run by a restaurant, apparently as an outsourced service.

Oasis is okay, with air conditioning, comfortable beds and a good breakfast. The beach was a letdown, with seaweed, rubbish like cigarette butts, paper and cans, plus sharp rocks. The roads and pavements on the way to Oasis are in poor condition too, so I wouldn't recommend it for elderly or disabled people.
