Samara Apart-Hotel

We stayed for 8 days and would happily have stayed longer. The underground parking, with lift access, is a huge plus in Balchik, where parking is a serious problem. The hotel is new, with cosy, spacious rooms and sea views. Its location is excellent, just 50 meters from the waterfront and beach. The pool has plenty of room for everyone, and there's a great cafe serving cocktails and all kinds of food. We'd love to return.

The cleaning really let the place down. I've worked in hotels, and that's no way to clean, sorry. The rest was okay: good location, friendly staff, free parking, and a nice relaxation area with a free jacuzzi and sauna. The massage therapy was suuuper, and breakfast was good.

I checked in during the night on May 03.2025. Online, a room for two was listed at 80 lv ( 207 ron), but the young receptionist asked for 90 lv. My husband wasn't there yet, and when he asked if I was single, I said I wasn't sure. Ten minutes later I came back and said yes, since my husband wasn't coming after all. He then said they didn't have single rooms. I asked what that meant, since any room could have single occupancy, and whether he meant they only had rooms with one single bed. He said single occupancy should cost 70 lv, but told me to come back in the morning. I wanted to pay then, but he again asked me to return, saying he was new and didn't know how to handle it. In the morning, the other receptionist said it was 90 lv. When I asked how the single and double prices could be the same, he said that was the single rate because the room was 110 lv. I checked online: the price had changed, but for that day, not the day before. I pointed that out, but he said he didn't understand and didn't know what the other guy had told me. It's not about the money, it's the cheap way this was handled. I didn't expect this kind of cheating manner from a hotel with pretensions like Samara.

We had half board. Breakfast was okay, but dinner was very poor. The hotel does have the facilities you need, including a free parking spot, spacious rooms, and bars nearby for a drink. It's also very close to a private beach area, though you pay extra for a chaislounge and an umbrella.
