Casa Karina Apart-Hotel

The food was good, but the same menu was served every day. The staff's attitude was the bigger problem. A misunderstanding about tea time ended with my brother and me being shouted at, as if we were deaf and couldn't understand normal speech. I've never encountered staff this rude anywhere I've been. They seemed not to know how to smile, and the place made us feel like we were trying to sleep in the staff's own bedroom. I won't return. If you want to stay somewhere you don't feel welcome, this is the place.

I've stayed at Casa Carina 4-5 times since 2017, but this will most likely be my last visit. The food used to have variety, the rooms were clean, and the pool was warm. Now there's hardly any food choice, the pool isn't warm, and the rooms aren't cleaned. There was so much dust in the mattresses that I coughed and couldn't sleep properly. Casa Carina isn't what it used to be. The owner has most likely changed. A ruined hotel, and I won't come back.

Breakfast had plenty of tasty options, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We also appreciated the free parking. Our spacious, luxurious room was clean and comfortable, and the spa was great, with an indoor pool, sauna, and steam room. We had a wonderful stay at Casa Karina, a perfect place to relax and enjoy Bansko. Highly recommend!

We spent seven days here in autumn, outside the winter season, because our medical treatments took place on site. The place must have been luxurious when it was built, but now the poor maintenance shows throughout. Around 90% of the window frames we saw, in rooms and common areas, were deformed. Carpets were worn and sometimes musty, and the parquet and wood panels were old and warped. The children's playroom was a single room with old, worn or broken toys and nothing new. Parking was a muddy, unmowed field after heavy rain. We later learned there was underground parking, but guests couldn't use it because it was out of service. Baby cots also cost extra. The bathroom shower holders were broken, and the kitchen sink faucet was loose and difficult to turn. Heating came only from electric convectors. There was a three-hour power cut during our stay, with no backup generator. The nearby construction and outage may have been the municipality's or electricity company's fault, but guests still had to put up with them. Trucks passed every five minutes from 7:00 AM until midnight throughout our stay, as a large hotel was being built next door. Most reception staff were polite, helpful, and professional. One woman seemed interested only in her phone. The restaurant food was well prepared and there was plenty, either à la carte or buffet-style. But with few guests, the choice shrank to a fixed menu of 5 items, and even preordered food took a long time. When it was busy, service was chaotic, like “communist-era style service.” On Saturday night, a private party with loud live music shook the whole hotel until midnight. This was probably a very good hotel at first, but neglect and some staff, especially at reception and in the restaurant, now get in the way of normal service. Most staff were still competent and polite, which is rare these days. Prices, like elsewhere in the resort, seem aimed at quick profit without giving customers real value or enjoyment. I wouldn't return unless I absolutely had to.
