The advertised spa was a letdown: only the pool and sauna were working, while the steam room and jacuzzi were out of service. The room also lacked basic comforts, including slippers for the cold, unclean floors. Some windows had no proper coverings, so people outside could see in, and persistent noises at night couldn’t be switched off, making sleep impossible. The bed was old, very small, and uncomfortable, with loud creaking at every movement. It was unsuitable even for one person, let alone a couple. The room was poorly maintained overall. A very bad stay, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. I hope others find somewhere better in Bansko.

We arrived to check in at 21:00 and found the whole hotel dark, with no people or reception. It felt like we’d broken into the place. It took us about 40 minutes to find the hotel and our room, which made for a really unsettling start. Breakfast was another serious problem. The fruit was close to spoiling, some mornings the food was cold, and an employee’s dog wandered around the dining room and ate our food before we arrived. We found hair from that same dog in my girlfriend’s dish, and food was missing from mine. I haven’t felt that disrespected in a long time. Hot water was limited because each room had its own boiler, with enough for only one 10-minute shower. We booked a double bed but got two separate beds, so we had to move to another room during the day, within the hotel’s 9-17 working hours. The facilities seemed ornamental and didn’t work: the billiard table had no cues or balls, and the hockey table had no hockey. We were told to call reception an hour ahead to have the saunas turned on, but they weren’t available when we needed them. We booked a hotel with a jacuzzi, but apparently I imagined that, since it wasn’t working properly. The room’s transparent curtains are great if you like waking up at dawn. Altogether, this was an unpleasant stay.

Panorama Resort Hotel in Bansko has a lot of potential, particularly under its new management. The new manager seems strongly committed to improving and growing the resort, with fresh energy and clear plans for upgrades. You can already see her dedication in the thoughtful improvements she’s making. It could be a fantastic place for visitors looking for comfort and quality. Great location, and it feels set up for success under her leadership.

The spa was incredible, and the kids loved the activity room. The room was clean, the location was perfect, and the staff were really helpful and nice. Breakfast was really good too. I’d recommend it 100%.
