Trinity Residence Bansko

Breakfast gets three stars from me. There are hardly any pictures of it here, so here's my contribution. It's bare basics, with nothing extra. The milk doesn't taste fresh or whole, and the cereal looks like a Lidl or other makeshift brand. I'll definitely buy my own food.

The team were friendly, helpful and accommodating, especially since I booked at the last minute. But they really shouldn't offer massages unless they hire another masseuse. The therapist seemed unsure what he was doing. At times it felt like a torturous sports massage, and at others like he was trying to give me rope burns. Halfway through, it was so bad that I had to massage my friend to get her to cancel hers too, so we wouldn't both suffer. The room was bright, with stained ceilings, and didn't feel relaxing. I wish I could unlive that experience.

The location worked well for us, and skiers get a free shuttle from the hotel to the gondola. The pool is large, with a smaller warm-water pool for children, which is great. Still, this definitely doesn't feel like a four-star hotel. Our apartment was dusty and dirty, although the linen and towels were clean. The mattresses were poor, especially the very thin sofa bed. Breakfast was the same each morning, while dinner was okay.

It's close to the old city, with nice facilities and a pleasant crew. The food is average, though, and the room design feels completely outdated, maybe on purpose.
