Family Hotel Kartala

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the hotel is close to the city center. The rooms, though, were mostly small and in poor condition. The furniture was old and pretty battered, and the bathroom smelled. Some rooms sit at an odd underground or street-level position, which gets cold in autumn and winter. A few AC units didn't work, and there were no extra blankets or towels. The walls are thin, so sounds from nearby bathrooms and hallways carry through.

The owners are hospitable people, and we had a long conversation with them. The restaurant welcomes people from outside the hotel too, and the food is delicious. Its central Blagoevgrad location is convenient, near the center, station, grocery stores and pharmacies. It's suitable for family, private or business visits. I recommend visiting and staying here, and we'll definitely return. Good luck!

The welcome was friendly, and the location is excellent, right in the center. The facilities are below standard, though. The rooms are spacious but outdated, reached through narrow passages. There's a tiny reception area filled with tobacco smoke. Outside, two staircases run over the sidewalk without railings, so watch your step. It feels like a souvenir from the 1990s.

The place was very clean, with friendly staff, and it's well located near the city center. Our room didn't have AC, but the temperature stayed OK even though it was too hot. Good quality for the price.
