Laguna Family Hotel

A very family-friendly stop. We came here every year while traveling through Bulgaria.

The hosts were kind and courteous, and we could park in the yard. I'd never been to Byala before and liked it. It's a quiet, peaceful spot, about 5 minutes from the beach and right by the water slide, with shops and restaurants close by. The rooms were ordinary, but we had no trouble gathering together. Although the rooms share a large terrace, we didn't disturb the neighbors.

We left with our money just 10 minutes after entering. The owner spoke to us with great disrespect throughout, and his response to our questions was rude and arrogant. We had booked through Booking based on the reviews, given our arrival time, and arrived when expected. He showed us a room without the amenities promised in the listing, which said it had a sea view. When we asked for a room with the advertised conditions, he became agitated and said he hadn't put that information on Booking, that Booking did things itself and wrote things without him. He then asked us to translate the reservation into Bulgarian, which we did. Once he saw the information was true, he said we could leave if we didn't like it. Because it was late, we told him we would stay. After traveling for half a day, we wanted tea and asked where the kitchen was, since the listing also said there was one. He said we wouldn't have a kitchen, that we were staying for 2 days and he wouldn't let us use it. He even said, "Take your money, in 2 days give them the kitchen too..." There's no respect for customers here. To the owner, be careful with what you say and do, especially around women. You never know who you're being rude to. I hope you get a karmic lesson.

The climb down to the beach means taking many steep steps along the cliff. The resort itself felt geared toward retirees, and I didn't see many young people. The place is a villa with parking in the yard. Seven rooms have a partial sea view, while another seven have none. Rooms come with air-conditioning and a large refrigerator. The host is kind and understands some English. A sea-view room makes the location worthwhile. Prices are good, and I'd give it 5 stars if you're not too picky.
