Topalovi Guest House

A peaceful, clean place to unwind, with a cozy feel and very hospitable hosts. We were really pleased with them, a truly special family.

The pool was so clean that we spent more time in it than in the sea. The owners are kind and friendly, and there’s a bar where you can use everything. It’s only 5 minutes from the center and 10 from the beach, super convenient. Great place to relax!

The place was awful, and I’ll never recommend it. The landlords were rude and arrogant, telling us when we could use the air conditioner and to turn off the lights even though we paid. It didn’t feel like a vacation at all, more like being in a concentration camp. You pay and still have to put up with their rude behavior. The man and woman took turns getting drunk on different nights. The furniture hasn’t been replaced since communism, and the “swimming pool” is the size of a bathtub. I was shocked, and I’ve visited lots of places. There were also two lovely dogs in this House of Horrors run by the Addams family who were clearly abused. Experiences like this, and places and hosts like these, are exactly why I’ll never visit the Bulgarian Black Sea coast again.

I wasn’t happy with my July stay. The sheets were very old, the pool was tiny, and the rooms weren’t cleaned daily. We’d agreed on a per-night rate, but I was charged per day instead.
